Here is the recording of the Dawn Chorus from our ancient woodland in Mid-Cornwall on 28th Dec. It is the second bank holiday after Christmas so all is relatively quiet; although you may hear the squirrels running from their drey, all the way down the branches of the oak tree and straight on to the bird feeders which hang in front of the window (a soft banging noise now and again).
You can listen to it here:
We hope you are having a great Christmas break – stay safe!
Just to highlight, that the recordings we are trying to achieve are minute accurate and start at a pre-set time (as one of our long term aims is to provide scientifically accurate data recordings). The recordings start exactly 30 minutes before dawn (at our location in Cornwall, UK) and the recording duration is 90 minutes. (NB: For 2022 we have changed this to 120 minutes)
